In that same survey, 56% of home buyers said they were turned off by stinky odors and peculiar smells coming from the home and property. Take the time to thoroughly clean your home and remove any odors that may have been left behind from smoking or pets.
SET THE MOOD
When you walk through the front door are you met with an open room filled with bright, welcoming light? 54% of homebuyers are put off by dull, dim lighting in your home. Make sure to replace any light bulbs that have blown in order to create a well-lit atmosphere that is welcoming to guests. Add lamps to dark rooms and replace dark drapes with light sheers. This will allow light to cascade in and add to the overall mood you are trying to achieve.

In a survey conducted by Go Compare, 15% of people were disappointed with a cluttered room, and another 14% were not flattered by over-the-top decorations.
